MICHELE & KYLE

Michele had always intended to provide a good childhood for her child, but homeschooling was an unintentional choice. After her struggles to conceive, she chose to stay at home and raise Kyle until he was ready for kindergarten - only to find out that there were no available spaces for him. By that time, it was a natural decision for her to continue homeschooling him.

EE VON & ASHLYNE

As a teacher, 'homeschooling' was never part of Ee Von's plans for her 7-year-old daughter, Ashlyne, until a year and a half ago. During a parenting course that took place over 16 weeks, Ee Von first heard of this alternative to mainstream education and was convinced this was "the way to go". She independently sought more information to gain a full idea of homeschooling and will officially begin coaching Ashlyne full time next year.

PENG PENG & EARLENE

After experiencing and witnessing the many troubles school-based education bring to children, ex-teachers Peng Peng and her husband
are steadfast on their decision to homeschool their children on the pre-primary and the early primary years. However, they do intend to send their children back to school for them to experience the school-based learning and testing environment before sitting for the compulsory Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) around the age of 12.

TIMOTHY

Timothy began homeschooling when he was 10, after his parents were convicted that their children were best taught at home. He would spend his mornings on his studies, and afternoons pursuing his interest in media production. He now works at Camwerkz, an equipment rental company.
